SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. – The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against 29‑year‑old Chamel Abdulkarim of Highland in connection with the massive fire that erupted at the Kimberly‑Clark Distribution Center in Ontario.
Fire personnel from multiple agencies responded rapidly to the incident, deploying significant resources to control the fire’s rapid spread throughout the 1.2‑million‑square‑foot facility. Ontario Fire Department and Police Department investigators similarly acted swiftly, using community tips and investigative leads to identify and locate Abdulkarim.
On Thursday, April 9th San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges:
One Count of PC 451.5(a) – Aggravated Arson
Six Counts of PC 451(c) – Arson of a Structure
Abdulkarim is currently being held on a No Bail status. He is due to be arraigned Friday, April 10th, at 8:30 AM at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse.
