SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. – The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed seven felony charges against Richard Aguiar, 50, in connection with an alleged DUI and hit-and-run crash that injured three people in Chino.
Aguiar, a Pomona Police Department employee, is charged with three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, three counts of driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher causing injury and one count of hit-and-run driving resulting in injury.
Our Office also alleges Aguiar had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15% or higher and caused injuries to more than one person.
It is alleged that Aguiar was driving southbound on Monte Vista Avenue at approximately 8:15 p.m. July 26, 2026, when he struck a vehicle and fled the scene. Investigators alleged he continued southbound at approximately 75 mph in a posted 40 mph zone before sideswiping another vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Aguiar’s vehicle also struck a tree.
The investigation remains ongoing. Aguiar is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 12, 2026, in the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse.
