The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Brandon McDonald (Age 25 of Rialto) with the act of human trafficking of a minor in Ontario.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Friday, July 31, 2020, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Human Trafficking Task Force and police officers from the Ontario Police Department were involved in an investigation. They located two 17-year-old victims in Mr. McDonald’s possession. Mr. McDonald was arrested at this time in the 1800 block of E. G Street in Ontario.
After reviewing this case, our office has charged Mr. McDonald with the following violations of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 236.1(c)(1) – Human Trafficking (Felony)
A person who causes, induces, or persuades, or attempts to cause, induce, or persuade, a person who is a minor at the time of commission of the offense to engage in a commercial sex act, with the intent to effect or maintain a violation of Section 266, 266h, 266i, 266j, 267, 311.1, 311.2, 311.3, 311.4, 311.5, 311.6, or 518 is guilty of human trafficking. A – violation of this subdivision is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison as follows:(1) Five, 8, or 12 years and a fine of not more than five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000).

Penal Code Section 266i(a)(1) – Pandering By Procuring (Felony)
Except as provided in subdivision (b), any person who does any of the following is guilty of pandering, a felony, and shall be punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for three, four, or six years:
(1) Procures another person for the purpose of prostitution.
Penal Code Section 266h(b)(1) – Pimping a Minor 16 Years of Age or Older (Felony)
Any person who, knowing another person is a prostitute, lives or derives support or maintenance in whole or in part from the earnings or proceeds of the person’s prostitution, or from money loaned or advanced to or charged against that person by any keeper or manager or inmate of a house or other place where prostitution is practiced or allowed, or who solicits or receives compensation for soliciting for the person, when the prostitute is a minor, is guilty of pimping a minor, a felony, and shall be punishable as follows:
(1) If the person engaged in prostitution is a minor 16 years of age or older, the offense is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for three, four, or six years.
