The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Matthew Thomas Chambers (Age 25 of Lenwood) and Lillian Martin (Age 30 of Barstow) for attempted murder in Apple Valley.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the the Apple Valley Gas Market in Apple Valley regarding a reported stabbing. During the investigation, Matthew Thomas Chambers and Lillian Martin were arrested.
After reviewing this case, our office has filed charges against Mr. Chambers for violating the following sections of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder (Felony)
Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought.
Penal Code Section 245(a)(1) – Assault With A Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Any person who commits an assault upon the person of another with a deadly weapon or instrument other than a firearm shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or four years, or in a county jail for not exceeding one year, or by a fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by both the fine and imprisonment.
Our office has charged Ms. Martin for violating the following section of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 32 – Accessory After The Fact-(Knowledge of Crime) (Felony)
Every person who, after a felony has been committed, harbors, conceals or aids a principal in such felony, with the intent that said principal may avoid or escape from arrest, trial, conviction or punishment, having knowledge that said principal has committed such felony or has been charged with such felony or convicted thereof, is an accessory to such felony.
