The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has charged Benjamin Robert Clinton (Age 19 of Twentynine Palms) for sex with a minor in Hesperia.
CASE SYNOPSIS
On Sunday, February 28, 2021, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 10000 block of Eighth Avenue in Hesperia regarding a runaway minor. During the investigation, Benjamin Robert Clinton was arrested.
After reviewing this case, our office has charged Mr. Clinton for violating the following section of the California Penal Code:
Penal Code Section 261.5(c) – Unlawful Sexual Intercourse With Minor More Than 3 Years Younger (Misdemeanor)
Any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is more than three years younger than the perpetrator is guilty of either a misdemeanor or a felony, and shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.
