SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. – On Tuesday September 3, 2024 , the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against defendant Michael Royce Sparks (62) of Redlands in connection to the murders of Dan and Stephanie Menard, who were reported missing in late August.
Defendant Sparks was arrested on Thursday August 29th, after an extensive and ongoing investigation by Redlands Police Department and Redlands Police Department Detective Bureau.
Michael Royce Sparks is charged with the following:
2 counts of PC 187 – Murder for the deaths of Dan and Stephanie Menard.
Additionally, a special circumstance allegation has been filed PC 190.2(a)(3) – Multiple Murder
The Special Circumstance allegation will make Defendant Sparks eligible for a sentence of Life Without Parole.
Sparks is due in court for arraignment Sept. 4th, at 8:30am at San Bernardino Justice Center.
